Description: In this recording, we celebrate the splendorous gift that is Mr. W.K. Kellogg’s ranch being donated to the state of California. The University of California deeply appreciate the present and hope to make advancements in agricultural education and the art and science of horse breeding. A ceremony was also held to celebrate the joyous event, with famous actor Will Rogers as Master of Ceremonies. Other notable speakers include the then-governor Governor James Rolph, notable lawyer Henry O’Melveny, the successful real estate developer and architect S.H. Woodruff, and many more.
